Furman University Family Session | The Henderson Family

August 16, 2021 Extended Family Session

As a Greenville newborn and family photographer, it is such a joy to get to capture several generations in the same portrait session.

This extended family session at Furman University in Greenville, SC was SO. much. fun!!! The Henderson's have been dear family friends of ours for several years now! Last fall I had the honor of photographing Joe and Brenda, so when they asked me to photograph their extended family this summer, the answer was absolutely YES!! Their family haven't had the opportunity to get an updated family photo all together since Joe and Brenda's wedding day (Read more about their unique love story on Brenda's blog HERE!), so this session was very special to document for them.

The Henderson and Hamrick family made our time together so, so fun!! It was filled with warmth, laughter, hugs, and lots of teasing (Because you know... teenage boys ;) )! Both families had photos in their home that they were wanting to update, so with that goal in mind, that is what we worked for. I love that they have a heart for documenting this season of life and making sure that they have it preserved on the walls of their home to wake up to each day! After their session, we all went out for ice cream at the new Clare's Creamery in Greenville, and we spent the time chatting about all the possible brands, pattens, and colors of shoes... And let me tell you, these boys know there shoes! I was wearing Vans the night of their session, and I guess that was pretty impressive to them. We all came away from the evening with full hearts and big smiles!

P.S. Brenda is a local writer in the Greenville, SC area. She just recently launched and published her newest fiction book, The House at the End of the Old Gravel Road, and after the session, she gifted me one of the first copies. It was such a fun read!!! The book is about a blogger in the Upstate SC area who lives in small town and shares the stories of the town and it's local people. If you love to read, this book is for you! If you are a photographer or blogger, this book will be so relatable! If you are from a small town, this book will feel like home to you! Definitely recommend for all! You can order your copy today on Amazon or read more about in on her site.

Enjoy these favorites from this extended family session at Furman University in Greenville, SC!
